Mr Joshua Lowe
Music Instructor
Mr Joshua Lowe holds a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance and has been a TEA certified music teacher since 2009. He is passionate about helping students discover their unique voices and to express themselves through music. His approach is nurturing, engaging, and is based on research, making every lesson enjoyable and enlightening. Instruments taught include: piano, guitar, ukulele, cello, violin, double bass, various percussion, and voice. Lessons on music software are also available (such as Garageband, and Sibelius).

Biography
Joshua Lowe is a versatile bassist and educator based in San Antonio, Texas. He holds a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance from Texas State University and a Texas teaching certificate. His mentors include Utah Hamrick, Jim Kalsen, and George Prado, and he studied Kodály pedagogy with Dr. Houlihan and Dr. Taka.
Joshua performs regularly with Henry Brun, Johnny P and the Wise Guys, and Cienfuegos. He toured Central and South America with Bucket and the Toasters and recorded with Spies Like Us (1999) and Kris Kimura (Shue’s Café, 2004).
Balancing performance with education, Joshua Lowe and Mission City Music Company offers private lessons and clinics, inspiring students with his deep groove, melodic approach, and commitment to the craft.
